When Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s ‘spam team’ (if there isn’t a Monty Python routine to be had there, then I’d be very surprised) recently came out and announced to the world that his team did not regard SEO optimization as spam, people right across the internet could be seen to be saying, “Yeah. We know. Told you so!”

In the next couple of weeks, Google’s update to their AdWords Quality Score will be fully functional. The changes will have an advantageous result for optimized landing pages. Finally Google will not only react to poor landing pages negatively. They have implemented a reaction to positive landing pages with good keyword relevance resulting in a beneficial push upwards to the ad’s quality score.
According to Google, “As the changes roll out, some campaigns will see variation in keyword Quality Scores and typical ad position. Within a couple weeks, things should stabilize and we expect most campaigns will not see a significant change in overall performance.”
